[lugm.org] BSD is dying says committers

BSD was always meant for the hardcore sysadmin/developer
who cared about about a reliable Unix.

When LUGM introduced me to BSD, it seemed to be lacking
in features. Taking a closer look shows attention to code,
better engineering and a minimalist approach which is closer
to the UNIX ways.

in the end, the bazaar can withstand the trial of time, unlike the best built cathedrals :D
Nice insight.

For those in the dark, read http://catb.org/~esr/writings/homesteading/cathedral-bazaar/

I remember reading that in 2000 when I was discovering Linux and I knew that this guy had understood something that only a few realised at that time.

But, to be fair, Apple's derivative of BSD is excellent too :-)
