my two cents.

Why organize a mini-conference?
 To get some media attention.

Why not enhance our monthly meetings with features that are friendly
to our target audience?
Good idea that should be kept... but a meeting can't last the whole
day till late night hence give a chance to people who can't attend the
meeting the time we made it usually...

What will happen when
      the mini-conference be over?
resume to our usual meeting, we probably might get some more
members, and later on decide to make another event... when we get the
financing and feel it is time to do it.

Avinash get another similar comment in his blog?
