<p class="p2">I've probably been on this mailing list from the very early beginnings. I have no idea how long but I'm certain I still have all the mail archives and can find out.<br /><span class="s1"></span></p>

<p class="p2">After 25 years in this space, with Linux, Emacs, vi, open source, and everything else, I decided to take a closer look at the keyboards I was using. Typing efficiency is everything in our world. I found there's hacker culture creating keyboards with open design and open source, truly innovating in a space the mainstream players have allowed to stagnate:<br /><span class="s1"></span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Got a 3D printer? Download the designs and print them. Or order ready-made cases. Print or order the circuit boards, buy chips, and start soldering. Get awesome keycaps... and even more awesome switches. </span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">I recently purchased Kailh Speed Gold switches and there's nothing like them. They click so satisfyingly on actuation, with an awesome tactile feel, and just the right ramp up in force to avoid bottom out. You feel so productive and motivated, just typing on them.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">There are all kinds of amazing keyboards out there. Don't want to spend anything? Understandable -- but if you're not touch typing yet, go do it! Lots of free programs out there. It's a really good investment. </span></p>
