I am the bringer of sad news. Atul Chitnis, Indian FOSS evangelist and
hacker has passed away at age 51, from a cancer he was fighting since 2012.

Atul Chitnis brilliantly spoke about FOSS at an NCB-organised, Open Source
workshop in 2003. Some photos of that workshop at

It was during this workshop where Avinash presented his 2003 survey on the
