I came across the old FSF website where they provide info on so-called
``free hardware.''

Looking closely at the list, I think the FSF staff must have redefined the
meaning of free...again while consuming mind altering substances with
the donation money.
Going to the soundcard section:

I see:
nVidia Corporation nForce2 AC97 Audio Controler (MCP)
Just for the record, Nvidia threatened developers of free software
with lawsuits if they attempted to reverse-engineer their closed source
drivers and never gave a iota of documentation for their crappy
hardware.
RMS & Co are missing the point. Don't trust the FSF.
