[lugm.org] What killed the Linux desktop

Hi,

(1) Migel is right:the fact that Linux desktop environments sometimes break
backward compatibility and that different distributions tend to differ a
lot internally means that it's actually tough for independent software
developers to port their drivers and desktop apps to Linux.

(2) But, I add, Linux on the desktop is not terribly important.. Linux on
smartphones and tablets is the future and, of course, that's Android :-)
