Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I will bring up the subject at our next MC
meeting to determine who will be designated as the systems administrator for
this server you're donating. The name of that person will be communicated to
you.

As a curiosity, if you're unable to guarantee funding after one year of
operation, how much will this colocation cost us monthly should we want to
keep it.

Hi,

I'm giving the server as it is with a dedicated KVM available 24/7. It's up
to you guys to decide who will have a KVM access, I can add a maximum of 9
sys admins on the KVM.

You may install anything you want on the box; vmware, freebsd, red hat,
debian etcc ..

I own the server, in fact it's a server that was recently purchased on
7/6/2011 for test purposes. You do not have to worry about co-location fees,
this has already been settled for the next 1 year, I own a full rack at the
datacenter.. You also do not have to worry about the server having defective
parts, I got a full spare parts profile kept at the dc, dc will replace
within half hour once fault reported..

kavish

Hi,

Thanks for the donation. I have a couple of questions and I will talk about
this in our next meeting.

1. When you mention "Donation of server", does it mean you're giving
exclusive root-level access to LUGM or you're giving an account or a virtual
machine on this server?

2. How are you paying for this server? Is it out of your own pockets?

3. If this server is being funded by a corporate entity, how would they like
their contribution to be recognised by the LUGM?

Ad on our blog/forums? Credits in our "About Us" page?

4. If we're not getting exclusive access to this server, what else is this
server being used for.

That's it for now.

Regards,

Ajay

I think it's a good idea. It's definitely time to get our hands
on the lugm.org domain. What's stephane's mail btw ?
