The broadcom driver in *BSD is reverse-engineered. Some info is
missing on those chipsets, not to mention errata.
If you want a good wifi experience, try ralink-based adapters.
And yeah, I've read slashdot as well, and the announcement that
broadcom will open source its drivers does not the current situation
at all.

because some days ago some guy did a commit on that and then said that it was working. [how do i know that, well i had the same card] just too bad my laptop died, i never managed to try it out.

Try the linksys USB wifi (silver).
It has a ralink chipset that should work ok.

I know logan, just that i did it last time with my HP lappy now got a provisional DELL inspiron 1729.
I think it has the same chipset "Broadcom" on it same as the Dell.
Will look on it later on, will miss my FreeBSD for a while. Anyway reason being am going on holiday soon back to Mauritius
there is no rush.

FreeBSD ppl apparently think that only atheros chipsets
matter, and they neglected the rest of the drivers...

of you manage to get Dell mini WLAN work on FreeBSD :! if so plz send
me some ideas. Oh yes second things konsole is not working either with
KDE 4.4 after 4 th reboot the last thing i did was install Themes, did
revert back, still the same. Any Idea would appricate.
