The hardware is excessively good (same class as an iPhone.) But I
think that HTC excelled with their profound customisation of the
Android platform which they call Sense.

Sense looks marvelous and everyone raves about it. Incidentally, the
HTC Tattoo also has Sense and is cheaper than the Hero.
