Hello,

Yes, beautiful people,

Thanks for all those who have confirmed their presence.

Still a few more would be a real pleasure :)

No one has yet confirmed a presentation topic. Meeting for no presentation would sound wierd, is it not? Please do let me know as soon as possible if you volunteer.

Take your chance and take up the challenge. One presentation, whether technical or not, whether for advanced Linux guru's or for people new, a survey result of FOSS, or simply making us discover a new distro or new graphical user interface (GUI) is all welcome.

Some more ideas are:-
- why choosing LiveCD?
- use of word processors like OpenOffice.org Writer against using LaTeX
- video capture and/or editing
- music creation and editing (Audacity)
- image editing with GIMP
- firewall
- LAMP stack
- a history of Linux and the FOSS movement
- versionning on software development (git, subversion, bazaar, cvs)
- or simply why YOU choose FOSS

And there's a lot more!
We're waiting for you!

Once again, thanks for all those who have replied - Ajay, Parvez, Avinash, Ronny and Selven.
The presence count is 5, including me, as it stands. Selven is not sure.

Cheers,
Dilraj

Subject: [lugm.org] August meeting

Hello beautiful people,

We're right into a new month and it's time to see each other. We're planning our monthly meeting this Saturday 8th August.

I'm sure that during this past month you've learnt new things that you're eager to share. This is the time to come in front and show your technical and presentation talents. If you volunteer to present something, please reply back and we'll be happy learning new things.

Even if not new, you can make us re-discover some things!

What will we have more?

We'll discuss the structure of meetings: what's to be included as technical, when to have non-technical, when to have things for, huh, "common" (or the "ordinary") people who want to experience Linux for the first time.

Please do also bring alongwith you any book that you may have in your possession - we'll keep them in a safe place and that will be useful for the upcoming inventory. Of course, that includes books that you have but haven't read! And even those very old ones with dust on it!

Please do also tell us what book you'd like to borrow. More information on our website at http://lugm.org/bookshelf/.

Finally, could you please confirm your presence for the meeting? As usual, here's the venue, just in case you've forgotten:

Linkbynet Indian Ocean
2nd floor, St James Court
Route St Jean
Quatre Bornes

10h30 to 12h00 - the fun and serious stuff
12h00 to 13h00 - lunch

Thanks to our friend DD for the venue.

Cheers,
Dilraj
